Your flaws are the cracks that allow the light to get in

Private Practice -Beauty in imperfection, Supporting individuals in embracing imperfections and processing life's experiences

In Japan, broken objects are often repaired with GOLD. The flaw is seen as a unique piece of the object’s history, which adds to its beauty. Consider this when you feel broken. Having said this, these “golden seams” and cracks are events which happened in the life of the object not the cause of their destruction.

We too can sometimes get thrown around by life and as a result emerge with “wounds, bumps and scrapes”. Sometimes we experience low points in our life that plant the seeds of shame in us such as rejection, betrayal, failure and abandonment. So we hide. We hide our flaws. We avoid. We avoid situations and people that make us feel vulnerable, that reveals our cracks, our wounds, our imperfections and we end up feeling alone, afraid, vulnerable and not good enough.

We can choose to either get bitter or better with our experiences. We can choose to acknowledge these experience and own them rather than letting the experience own us. There is a beauty in our golden seams, in the way we process these experiences and learn great lessons from them. We are a total sum of our experiences. Those experiences be it positive or negative have a way of influencing us and reshaping us but it does not define who we are.

Let The Private Practice help in your private practice of embracing and processing these experiences with you, thus allowing you to show up to the world, being your whole, authentic self with cracks mended with golden seams.
