Priscilla Huang, Principal Consultant Occupational Therapist
When Priscilla graduated from Curtin University of Technology in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, she knew she had found her calling. She was eager to soak up all the knowledge she could during her studies, and she quickly discovered her passion for mental health and psychology. Priscilla has always been intrigued by the way the mind works and how it can shape a person’s life.
With years of experience under her belt, Priscilla has developed a specialty in mental health therapy. She believes that therapy can be incredibly effective in treating mental illness, but she also knows that it takes a personalized approach to optimize the experience. Priscilla focuses on individual and group therapy, with an emphasis on symptom management, stress management, pain management, and peer support. She also believes in taking a holistic approach that considers the person, their environment, and their occupation.
Priscilla is a firm believer in the power of creativity and playfulness in therapy. She knows that even adults can benefit from playfulness and spontaneity. That’s why she incorporates creative expression, such as storytelling and art mediums, into her therapy sessions. Priscilla is also a proponent of spiritual modalities like Reiki and mindfulness and the importance of social inclusion and occupational and social justice.
Priscilla’s approach is gentle, playful, objective, and non-judgmental. She meets her clients where they are, whether that’s in the clinic, at home, at school, at work, or in the community. Her years of experience working in Australia and in Singapore with adults who have been diagnosed with complex needs, as well as the geriatric population and persons with special needs, have taught her the importance of taking a person-centered approach in goal setting. Priscilla strives to empower her clients and be an effective advocate for their needs.
Overall, Priscilla’s passion for occupational therapy and her dedication to helping her clients improve their mental health and well-being make her an excellent choice for anyone seeking occupational therapy services. If you’re looking for a therapist who will be on your side and on your time, whenever you’re ready, Priscilla is the one for you.
